About Me...
Muriel is a teacher, singer/songwriter and founder of Muriel's World renamed Chanson Magique.
Born in France, Muriel Vergnaud studied at the Boulogne-Billancourt National Conservatory of Music, receiving a Diploma in flute in 1989, and a First Prize in chamber music in 1990. During these years, she also graduated in musicology and art history from La Sorbonne. From 1992 to 1994, she attended Orsay where she earned a University Diploma in early music education with congratulations from the jury.
She moved to New York City in 1995. There she worked as an educator and composer and developped her unique concept in numerous NYC schools including the Lycée Français de New York, the Language Workshop for Children and the Brooklyn Heights Montessori School, among others.
After the birth of her children in 2010, she launched her private workshop in a beautiful and inspiring space in Brooklyn Heights. Muriel's love for children and music can be heard and felt all along in her classes and in her CDs. Over the last 20 years, her program has helped thousands children discover and love the French language.
She now lives in Montreal where she is starting a new journey with her family.
She is the happy mother of 12-year-old bilingual twins.
